Thanks!

Thanks for all the support as I struggle with the sleep madness! I found a book from a website Vee suggested and I bought it yesterday. Hopefully some of the tips from it and web research will stop the madness.

In the meantime, I'll be cleaning the night away...Beak's mom is coming to visit tomorrow.

She's making me crazy!!!!

Okay, not only is motherhood not for wimps (in the immortal words of SEDW) but it is also not for women who like to sleep!!!!

Pre-baby friends - there are not enough words to prepare you for the sleeplessness!!!

Some women I know have been blessed with sleepers - babies who read the assigned text, passed the exam and were granted thier license to sleep through the night at 6 weeks and never even hiccup during the nighttime hours.

Me?

I have a darling, precious, hillarious baby who in fact withdrew from the course on sleeping. She thinks she might take it sometime next semester if she can fit it in.

Last night I put her down at 7:30 (usually she goes between 8 - 8:30, but last night she was really sleepy). Awake again by 9, awake again at 10:15 (at which time I decided to go to bed), awake again around 11:45, awake again around 2:00, awake again around 3:30 - this time SCREAMING (unusual), I go in to really investigate & find her soaked, change her clothes, rock her, down at 4:45, awake again at 6:00, awake again to stay at 7:30.

I think for me last night was just 2 two-hour naps!!!

This is not a one-night thing. This is almost every night. She wakes up at least 5 times a night and sometimes it's worse and sometimes it's better.

So, girls, say a prayer for miss E's sleep habits and we shall see what the moon & stars hold for us tonight....

Two Words kids...stomach virus!!!!

I hadn't been home 20 minutes Wednesday night when I became one with the porcelain God.

I seriously don't know how people have more than one child. What do they do when they're all sick? Good gravy!!!!

Why don't they listen?

Why oh why don't they listen? I tell them exactly what they need to do to get a waiver for a course, drop a course, add a course...infinity...and yet...they do not do those things. After they do not do "the thing", they look at me as though I have five heads when it does not turn out as they had intended.

I look at them and I am perplexed.

I wonder aloud: Did I act like that?

I think back to meetings with Dr. Chi and I hope I didn't not act like that. I know we were a fun-loving crowd, but I think we had SOME sense. Please affirm for me that we had some sense.

It will be the same for 5 more days and then registration will end and I will be happy once again!

Tonight Gran is taking us shopping for new shoes. We have a coupon to Stride Rite (coupons to Stride Rite are like gold) that runs out this wknd so we shall shop til we drop. Gran and I corrupted Emelia to shop-a-holism at an early age!

Tell me why....

Can any of you remind me why I decided to work with the public, please?

Somedays are just challenging and today was one of those.

The phone didn't stop ringing the email didn't stop popping up and the questions never ceased. There's always a crisis of Biblical proportion and I seem to be the "catch all" for any and all situations.

Don't get me wrong - I don't mind helping - but the constant flow of things that I think are pretty simple which others turn into complex, mind numbing problems gets me down.

But....I get to go home and see my "precious beautiful" and at the end of the day she's all that really matters. A fish-face kiss or a big love hug from her and the toils of life fade away.

Well, I'm here

Okay, so in the last week I've discovered that keeping up with the girls means blogging is a necessary evil.

NB-C, Nat, Vee, SEDW - please note that I would NOT be doing this if you weren't out there in blog-land. I'm way too techno-dumb.

Anyway, if it means I can keep up with you guys and you can keep up with me - then I'm all for it.

BTW - E LOVES pink poodles thus the title of aforementioned blog.
